Juve 3 Skin Rejuvenation
What is the 3 JUVE device?
The 3JUVE device is a highly versatile multi- application device combining Fractional Er:YAG Laser, Intense Pulsed Light, and Radiofrequency skin tightening technology intended for use as a combination programme to target various anti-ageing concerns. This enables us to provide a bespoke treatment to meet all your skin concerns.
Each individual, non-invasive technology effectively targets a main ageing concern, whilst also treating a range of other dermatological conditions.
By delivering optimum stimulation of the dermis and epidermis we are able to achieve unprecedented collagen renewal and even skin tone.
At KAST Aesthetics we take your skin concerns seriously and appreciate that every face is unique, which is precisely why any facial treatment should be too.
FAQs & Aftercare
What is the difference between each of the 3 JUVE technologies?
- ReSurFACE (2940nm Fractional): retexturizes the skin for maximum smoothness, reducing the appearance of fine lines, tightening pores and erasing any textural irregularities to enhance your natural complexion
- ReBRIGHT (585 IPL): naturally brightens the skin by reducing redness, veins, sunspots and sun damage, resulting in fresh and flawless looking airbrushed skin
- ReMODEL (Radio Frequency): the subtle lifting and firming achieved with ReMODEL is the key to having a natural youthful appearance
What should I expect before any 3 Juve treatment?
All 3 Juve treatments start with an advanced consultation to determine specific treatment goals, after which, a proposed treatment plan can then be tailored to your individual skin depending on the concerns identified: loss of firmness, discolouration, or lines and wrinkles.
What is fractional laser resurfacing?
- The resurface uses an Er:YAG laser at 2940nm to create tiny micro-spots of ablation (damage) in the epidermis or top layers of the skin, resulting in dramatic skin renewal.
- Fractional resurfacing laser or fractional photo-thermolysis delivers light in an array of high precision micro beams.
- These micro beams create narrow, deep columns of tissue coagulation that penetrate well below the epidermis and into the dermis, whilst sparing the tissue surrounding the columns from damage.
- The coagulated tissue within the columns initiates a natural healing response to accelerate the formation of new healthy tissue. Coagulated cellular debris is expelled as the skin is resurfaced.
What does it treat?
- Total skin rejuvenation of facial area
- Mild to moderate lines and wrinkles
- Crêpey skin
- Rejuvenation of sun damage and discoloration
- Vascular and pigmentary changes
- Loss of skin firmness in facial area
- Generalised ageing of the facial skin
- Enlarged pores
- Mild to moderate acne scarring
- Preventative ageing treatments
This process retextures the skin for maximum smoothness, reducing the appearance of lines, tightening pores, and erasing irregularities.
How will I need to prepare for my treatment?
You may need to make a few lifestyle changes before treatment.
To heal well and get the best results from laser treatment, we recommend that patients:
- Quit smoking for at least 2 weeks before laser treatment.
- Stop taking medications and supplements that can delay healing.
- Stop using skin care products that contain a retinoid or glycolic acid for 2 to 4 weeks.
- Take medication to prevent getting cold sores if you’re prone to developing cold sores.
- There should be no active tan or fake tan in the area to be treated. Use of sunbeds or prolonged exposure to sunlight is not allowed in the month prior to treatment and an SPF 30 must be used on the area between treatments.
- Suntans must be left to fade completely before treatment can start. Fake tans and gradual tanning products must also be fully faded before treatment can commence.
- The area to be treated should be free from make-up, perfume, deodorant and body or, face creams.
- A medical history is taken at consultation, but we rely on you to inform us of any changes to this. We need to know of any medication you are taking including those bought from a chemist or herbalist.
You will also be required to have a patch test a week prior to treatment.
How many treatments will I require?
- The number of treatments required varies from client to client and is dependent upon many factors. However, a minimum of 3 and up to 9 sessions are recommended depending on the skin concerns being treated.
- Treatments are carried out every 4-6 weeks. Following your course of treatments, top up sessions are performed as required, usually once or twice a year.
- The treatment plan may include more than laser treatment or more than one modality or treatment type depending on the severity of the condition being treated. This is definitely the case for deep acne scars. For example, a patient may require a series of laser treatments in addition to a filler for severe scarring or laser and radio frequency skin tightening if the concern was deep lines and wrinkles and skin laxity.
How long will it take to see visible results?
Results take time to appear.
It can take months to see the results from laser scar treatment, and you may notice little improvement at first.
How will my skin be post-treatment and how should I care for my skin afterwards?
- Following treatment, the area will appear red and may be swollen. It will feel hot and tender (similar to sunburn) for several hours following treatment. The redness and swelling may last a few days but can be minimised with the application of cold compresses. Facial swelling can be reduced by sleeping with your head raised on pillows.
- Following your aestheticians’ instructions for at-home care after laser treatment will help you see the best results and prevent possible side effects.
- In order to minimise skin heating and to reduce the likelihood of skin reactions, the treatment area will be cooled after the procedure. Once you get home, you may like to apply a cold compress or wet flannels etc. If applying an ice pack at home, always put ice inside a clean plastic bag and wrap in a soft cloth. Do not allow ice packs or ice to come into direct contact with the skin.
- As long as redness remains on the skin after treatment, refrain from indulging in heavy drinking, going to a sauna or heavy exercise. Those activities may increase the redness of your skin.
- The skin will also feel quite tight following treatment and using a soothing, gentle moisturiser for a day or two following treatments can help to relieve this. Test for sensitivity on a small area of skin before applying to the whole face.
- Starting on day 2-3 the skin will appear flaky as it begins to exfoliate and may take on a bronzed appearance as the epidermal debris comes to the surface; this generally lasts for about 5 days. This is a positive sign and indicates that the skin is regenerating. If required 4-5 days after your treatment, you can use a very light exfoliator to help remove the dry/flaky skin (providing the erythema has reduced and skin sensitivity has returned back to normal.
- Keeping the skin well moisturised at this point will also help reduce the risk of tightness.
- Avoid cosmetics for approximately 48hrs after treatment. Mineral make-up can be applied after this time, however when removing, use a very gentle cleanser and a lot of water and try to avoid vigorously rubbing the skin, as this may cause irritation. If the skin at the treatment area becomes broken, then make-up should be avoided until the area is completely healed.
- Avoid hot baths / showers for 24hrs.
- Do not pick at any flaking or crusting that may form.
- The skin will usually return to normal by day 7 to 10, although some flakiness may remain for Up to 14 days.
- Use a sunscreen (SPF 30+) and protect the area from sunlight as much as possible between treatments and for at least one month after treatment ends. Failure to do this can lead to sunburn and hyperpigmentation of the treated area. (Most cases of changes in pigmentation occur when the treated area has been exposed to sunlight or in people with darker skin types).
- If blistering occurs contact the clinic immediately for further advice. Keep the area clean and dry and allow to heal naturally.
- Do not use any lotions or creams on open skin as this may increase the risk of infection. DO NOT pick grazes or blisters – as this may increase the chance of a scar occurring. Once the skin has healed, a high protection sunscreen should be used daily for 12 months to prevent pigmentation changes to the skin.
Rebright - IPL
At KAST Aesthetics, we use the 3 Juve Re-BRIGHT from Lynton Lasers to treat facial redness, rosacea, spider veins around the face freckles, pigmentation, skin rejuvenation and acne.
How does intense pulsed light work?
- IPL technology uses a broad spectrum of light that generates and delivers intense bursts of light at specific wavelengths to accurately target particular components of the skin without harming or removing the outer epidermal layers of the skin.
- The body’s natural processes then work to break down and remove these marks. The appearance of any skin imperfection is then visibly reduced.
What conditions can the 3 Juve Rebright IPL treatment treat?
IPL is indicated for the treatment of:
- Pigmented skin lesions – including solar lentigines (sun spots), ephelides (freckles) and seborrheic keratoses (flat)
- Vascular irregularities – including facial telangiectasia (thread veins), spider naevi, Rosacea, Campbell de Morgan spots and Poikiloderma of Civatte
- Mild to moderate inflammatory facial acne
- Enlarged pores- reducing pore size enhances the overall appearance of the skin
- General skin rejuvenation -by reducing vascular and pigmentary irregularities and promoting collagen synthesis to reduce fine lines and wrinkles
All of which results in a smoother texture of the skin and creates a more even skin tone and a younger and more attractive skin.
Can all skin colours be treated?
Because of the intensity of intense pulsed light, it means that it may only be suitable for those with a lighter skin type.
What does the 3 juve Rebright treatment involve?
- A cooling gel is first applied to the area to be treated and you’ll be asked to wear protective eyewear.
- The 3 juve ReBRIGHT applicator head is then applied to the skin in a systematic way delivering precise pulses of light that eliminate the pigment or imperfection without damaging surrounding tissue.
Will the treatment hurt me?
The sensation of IPL is often described as feeling like an elastic band being snapped against the skin or a slight tingling sensation. No anaesthesia is required.
How long will my treatment take?
Each treatment takes around 30 minutes and you will be able to leave the clinic immediately after your session.
How do I prepare my skin for treatment?
You may need to make a few lifestyle changes before treatment.
To heal well and get the best results from laser treatment, we recommend that patients:
- Stop smoking for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment as this will affect healing
- We need to know of any medication you are taking including those bought from a chemist or herbalist.
What results can I expect to see?
- Your skin will appear fresher, rejuvenated and younger-looking even after just a few treatments.
- Visible results can be dramatic with the increased collagen production toning and improving the elasticity of your skin. IPL is effective in itself but a combination of treatments could enhance results further.
Regular treatments keep skin looking young and fresh
We also recommend a top-up treatment once or twice a year to maintain your rejuvenated skin. Around 3 to 6 treatments at 4 week intervals is usually required.
Can I combine IPL with other treatments?
IPL is effective in itself but a combination package could enhance results further, for example, the 3 Juve ReSURFACE- laser resurfacing treatment, 3 JUVE ReModel radio frequency remodel treatment, skin peels, and medical micro needling.
How should I care for my skin post procedure and what will my skin look like after treatment?
- Following the treatment, the area may appear red and raised and you may experience a tingling sensation. This is completely normal and will settle over the next few days
- Although rare, you may experience swelling or bruising and this can last anything from 1-2 days up to 1-2 weeks
- If it follows a treatment to a facial area, sleeping with your head raised on pillows will minimise its appearance
- If your skin is particularly sensitive and prone to histamine reactions, you may also wish to consider taking a anti histamine medication
- Avoid strenuous activities, sauna, steam and excessively hot baths, massaging etc
- Wash and bathe as normal but take cool baths and showers
- Pat the skin dry rather than rub
- Care should be taken to avoid trauma in the area for 4-5 days afterwards
- For sun damage, brown spots, age spots and pigmentation, the spots generally look darker for 3-7 days following the treatment. Crusting can occur, which may last up to ten days. The spots will then begin to clear which will leave a clearer more even skin tone.
- For thread Vein removal the skin may appear red after treatment followed by mild swelling lasting 24 hours to 3-5 days depending on the treatment area.
For all skin rejuvenation treatments, a consultation and patch test 48 hours prior to treatment is required.
ReMODEL - Radio Frequency
What is Radio frequency?
- Radio frequency is a type of energy which is measured in frequency or wavelength per second. All types of energy are classified according to their frequency on the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Radio frequency is one category on this spectrum and includes WIFI signals, radio and TV waves, and microwave ovens.
How does Radio Frequency tighten skin?
- Like any form of energy, RF has the capacity to produce heat. Radio frequency heats the deeper layers of the skin to induce collagen and elastin production and encourage cell turnover, helping skin become firmer, thicker and more youthful-looking.
- Electromagnetic radiation below the range of 300GHz passes through the skin, effectively heating the dermis to approximately 40 degrees. The dermis is the skin layer below the epidermis. The heat gradually modifies the collagen fibres, causing them to contract and condense. Additional collagen synthesis occurs due to the healing process of the skin, induced by the heat. This eventually results in tighter and healthier looking skin.
Are there any side effects?
Radio frequency is completely safe, with earlier types of RF technology either penetrating too deeply or overheating. Conversely, our technology causes no side-effects.
