Amy Elizabeth Bird is a registered nurse, independent prescriber, aesthetic practitioner, educator, and sector leader with over a decade of full-time experience in aesthetic medicine. She has been injecting since 2013 and has spent the past ten years running an award-winning, CQC-registered aesthetic clinic, leading a multidisciplinary team of ten staff. Both Amy and her team have received industry recognition, including Nurse of the Year, with additional nurse and team finalist awards.

Her clinical career began in the NHS, where she trained during a period of traditional, standards-driven nursing education with a strong emphasis on governance, accountability, and patient safety. She later worked within private hospital plastic surgery, gaining experience in delivering care ethically and safely within a commercial healthcare environment, shaping her understanding of how to practise, and just as importantly, how not to.

Amy is a qualified independent prescriber and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Cosmetic Practice, reflecting her commitment to formal academic training, scope-of-practice responsibility and evidence-based aesthetic medicine alongside extensive clinical experience.

Alongside her clinical and leadership roles, Amy is a seasoned educator for pharmaceutical companies and a leading brand ambassador within aesthetic medicine. She is an established author, writing regularly for professional and industry magazines as well as publishing in peer-reviewed journals. She is also a monthly columnist for Aesthetic Medicine.
Amy has completed a clinical study presented at the Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress (AMWC) and is currently involved in an international clinical study, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to research and best practice. She currently serves as Chair of BAMAN and is actively involved at the highest levels of sector change, regulation, and nurse advocacy. She has also acted as a judge for a national industry awards for four consecutive years.

Known for her values-led leadership, Amy champions strong clinical foundations, medical professionalism, and ethical responsibility within an increasingly commercialised and evolving industry. Through her leadership, education, research involvement, and writing, she continues to support practitioners and influence the future direction of aesthetic medicine.
